Spring Creek Park is located in far northwest Harris County. Just a mile or so off of Tomball Parkway, this small park offers a little of everything. You'll find an archery range, two playgrounds, a few RV and tent camping sites, hiking trails, tennis courts, a basketball pavilion, a sand volleyball court, and softball field. You can also fish in Spring Creek which forms the northern boarder of the park.
What We Loved
This is a great park for entertaing large groups or if you're looking for a spot for a family picnic on a busy Saturday afternoon. There are more picnic tables at this park than any other park I have seen! A large pavilion perfect for family reunions, company picnics and church gatherings sits at the top of a hill near one of two playgrounds. The covered area has several more tables, a BBQ grill/smoker and concession window. There is another small pavilion also with tables and a smoker further up the hill.
What We'd Like To See Instead
While we would really consider this to be more of a day-use park, camping is available but oddly placed. The three tents sights are backed by a chain-link fence on the other side of which is a major throughway. The eight RV sites face the tent camping and have full hook-ups. There is an area dedicated for scout groups that is tucked away in a quieter and less conspicuous part of the park. I think the camping sites might be more popular if they we in this area of the park and offered a little more privacy.
